EcoTournament

The main objective of EcoTournament is to strengthen the competencies of youth workers and young people in the fields of environment and climate change through quality training and online tools. The project aims to improve youth workers' professional development and enhance science, digital, citizenship, and entrepreneurship competencies among young people. It also seeks to raise awareness about the need to protect the environment in the European Union and the South Mediterranean region.

The target groups of the project are youth workers and young people, including individuals with fewer opportunities. At least 200 people will be involved in transnational and local activities. The project will last 24 months and include several key activities:

• Kick-off meeting

• Seminar and study visit

• Creation of an online platform with the EcoTournament and educational materials

• Two youth exchanges

• Transnational training courses for youth workers

• Local training and dissemination activities

• Final conference

The project will produce several outputs, including videos, an online platform, publications, reports, and documents. The most important outputs are an online platform with EcoTournament and additional educational materials for youth and youth workers​

Objectives

• Strengthen competencies of youth workers and young people in environmental and climate change issues through training and online tools.

• Develop an innovative learning framework using open educational resources (OER) and an online tournament focused on ecology and green lifestyles.

• Enhance ICT skills of youth workers and young people.

• Promote sustainable development and social inclusion through non-formal education methods.

• Encourage young people’s involvement in environmental protection and green living.

• Facilitate cross-border exchange of best practices and knowledge on environmental issues.

• Improve youth employability by building their scientific, entrepreneurial, and digital skills.

• Create a long-term impact by encouraging replication of the EcoTournament in partner countries​

Expected Results

• Increased environmental awareness and knowledge of climate change issues among at least 200 youth workers and young people.

• Development and launch of the EcoTournament platform with educational content and materials.

• Improved competencies among youth workers and young people in the fields of science, citizenship, and entrepreneurship.

• Participation of 70% of individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds in project activities.

• Enhanced intercultural understanding through international exchanges and cooperation.

• Creation of an active youth network focused on environmental protection and sustainable development.

• Positive environmental and social impact in the European Union and South Mediterranean region​
